HYPOTHESIS TO LAUNCH TO NATIONAL AUDIENCE
Ultra-Premium Napa Valley Cabernet from Industry Veterans
August 29, 2012 – Sonoma, CA— Roots Run Deep Winery, the team behind Educated Guess, is launching Hypothesis, an exciting new ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon. Made with 100% Napa Valley fruit, the blend is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot.
Winemaker Barry Gnekow, known for his work with Klinker Brick, 7 Deadly Zins, Hahn and Educated Guess, made Hypothesis utilizing a pre-fermentation process called flash détente to create a wine with increased color and flavor extraction. Developed in France, flash extraction has been used in Europe, South America and Australia for more than a decade, but in California only since 2009. One hundred percent of the fruit goes through flash détente, is then barrel fermented and then spends 12 months in French Oak barrels to create a wine that has incredible structure, depth of fruit and amazing oak integration.
Vintage Point, the Sonoma-based sales and marketing firm that represents Roots Run Deep Winery and Educated Guess, has been brought on to launch Hypothesis to a national audience. "Hypothesis is an outstanding reserve-style wine and an incredible value at $40,” said David Biggar, President of Vintage Point. “The wine is forward and rich and Cabernet consumers will love it. Flash détente, a relatively new process in the United States, represents an innovation in winemaking whose time has come.”
Hypothesis will start shipping in September. The wine will retail for $40.00.
