In the era of Tiger Woods, it seems an all too distant past where Arnold Palmer ruled the links. He is a legend and could only be spoken of as one of the greatest that golf has ever known. Now he is as well known for negotiating bunkers at St. Andrews as he is in business. Even in semi-retirement, Palmer’s feet never rest. Constantly involved in charitable organizations and business ventures, the icon continues to share his passion for the game and life. His most recent success, a joint venture with Luna Vineyards in Napa Valley called Arnold Palmer wines. When one of the best of all time wanted to make wine, he knew where to turn; his old friend, Mike Moone, founder of Luna Vineyards. An ironic twist of fate, Palmer returns to the ‘once’ St. Andrews Winery (Luna Vineyards) to create his line up of wines. "Since I’ve hooked up with Luna, I’ve had more reason to be involved in wine" Palmer can be quoted as saying. Arnold Palmer Wine’s 2005 release of Cabernet and Chardonnay are sourced from California’s ‘most acclaimed growing regions’. Each bottle has been strategically blended with Moon and Palmer’s guidance at Luna Vineyards to target the top restaurants and country clubs of the United States. As Palmer’s involvement with the wine industry develops through Luna Vineyard’s hand crafting of his wines, we are sure the Icon will dominate wine palates as he did the fairways at St. Andrews.
