Champy was founded by Boston-based entrepreneur and two-time Emmy Award Winning Executive Producer and lifestyle television personality, Jenny Johnson. A longtime lover of bubbly, Johnson enjoys the celebratory spirit found in sparkling wine and believes a glass can spontaneously transform ordinary moments into extraordinary ones.
Over the past decade, she has curated strong relationships in the hospitality and dining industry. Her program Dining Playbook focuses on food and wine, restaurant trends and travel.
Champy is made by Penny Gadd-Coster, executive director of winemaking at Rack & Riddle in Healdsburg, California. Penny Gadd-Coster brings almost thirty years of wine industry experience and over l00 awards and medals to her credit, as well as a singular focus on sparkling wine.
The wine is 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, with fruit sourced from Sonoma, Mendocino, and Napa counties. Its sparkle is derived from the traditional method of fermentation, méthode champenoise, in which a secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle.
Champy reminds us to celebrate not only special occasions, but all occasions.
